I haven't been to too many places so my favorite city in the United States is Hoboken. I like it because its not too close and not too far. You get a New York City like atmosphere without having to go there. You can look over the Hudson or go out on the bar seen.
Like Steven, I haven't been to too many different places myself. From the places that I have been to, nothing compares to New Jersey. Even though most people think New Jersey is a dirty and disgusting state, I still think the small cities throughout New Jersey are my favorite. I like that you have the best of both worlds in New Jersey. You have the benefits of being so close to New York City, but the comforts of a close neighboorhood. Like New York and Hoboken, New Jersey has many bars, restaurants, and establishments that are worthwhile going to. The Medowlands also offers good entertainment and I love that it is practically in my own backyard.
Unfortunately, I have not done much traveling and I have never been outside of the country. In the limited amount of places that I have gone to, however, there have been some cities that I really liked and some that I did not like. I have been to major cities such as Baltimore; New York City; Philadelphia,PA; Fort Lauderdale, Florida;West Palm Beach, Florida; and Monterrey, Cali. However, I would have to say that my favorite city of all is New York City. The reason why I say that is because no matter what time of year, or what time of day, there is always something happening in New York City. New York City is one of those places that has something for everyone. Whether it is to go see a sporting event, eat at a nice restaurant, go to a bar, see a play, see the best museums in the world, or take a boat or helicopter ride around Manhattan Island there is something for everyone. It truly is an amazing place. It is no wonder why people come from around the world just to visit it once in their lives.
My Favorite city is Atlantic city. I like Atlantic city because it has so much to offer. There are casinos which offer a lot of entertainment, clubs, and dinning experiences. Atlantic city also has outlet shopping, which I love. I also like going to the beach there and walking on the board walk.
I have been to many cities across the country from New York City across to Cheyenne and as far south as Albuquerque, NM. Not much to see as you drive across the country except what you can catch in the brief moment you are there. Colorado Springs would have to be my favorite city in the country because it offers an atmosphere unlike anything I have ever experienced. The Garden of the Gods was probably the most amazing scene of can recall seeing in my trip across the country, although the Rocky Mountains are a site to see. The rock formations are just unbelievable and extends through the national park in Colorado Springs. The city sits above sea level, so the panoramic view is out and above everything around which gives a breathtaking scene.
My favorite city in the world is Venice, Italy. I say this because I have been there once in high school with a choral/band group of students for the day on a 3 week trip. It is a beautiful city despite the horrible in the summer. There are many places to eat and shop there which is wonderful to enjoy. It also has a very long history which is interesting and I learned much about it, especially the reason why it floods so much, since the water is very high and it frequently rains there, causing the water to rise up and flood San Marco Plaza. I love Venice and would love to go back there one day to learn more about its rich history and lavish lifestyle.
Since I have just recently went to Greece over the summer and the opportunity to spend a a week in Athens. I really enjoyed the city life there, it was a very chill culture which was very fun to be apart of. Your in a major city with out that city feeling. There are many different things to do while there, and is also a city rich in history and culture... So as of now Athens is one of my favorite city's just because it was a different sort of city feel for me.
Unfortunately, I have not done much city travelling. Therefore, I would have to say that my favorite city is only a short car ride away. Hoboken is like having the pleasure of going to New York City minus the hassle of traffic, and massive amounts of people. It offers you the ability to walk around a clean environment, surrounded by endless restaurants, bars, and lounges. It has all the amenities when looking for a good time. Even when just looking to walk around the view you get of the city and the water are beautiful.
My favorite city is New York City. I guess I'm a bit biased because I was born there and live there currently. I love it because anything you could possibly want to do is there and no matter where you are in the city everything is no more than a train ride away. In New York I'm confronted with many different cultures on a daily basis, which has helped me grow as a person. Also, there is a sense of individuality in New York City, you can be whoever you want to be. I also enjoy the sense of anonymity as well, but along with anonymity, New York has such a strong sense of community amongst its residents because of the close living arrangements. Opportunity is everywhere and it is , in my opinion, the most motivating city of them all. Walking down the street in Manhattan, you are among some of the richest and most powerful people in the country, if not the world.
My favorite city is New York City. I take every chance I get to go and visit. I love that it has something for everyone whether it be shopping, restaurants, bars, or entertainment, it has everything. There are even areas of Brooklyn that are more suburban if you want to get away from all the noise. There is always something going on for anyone in the city. But my favorite part is that you get to experience a wide array of different cultures! There are so many different kinds of people in the city its hard not to immerse yourself in learning something about them.
Obviously the best city in the world is Topeka, Kansas... (pause for laughter).
Personally, I can't say that I have a favorite city. There are many places that I would love to see sometime though I can't definitively say which one is my favorite. Obviously New York is way up there. Other cities that I would like to see would be Dublin, London, L.A, Seattle, Chicago, Paris, Seoul, Tokyo, Berlin, Amsterdam, St. Petersburg, Toronto Las Vegas, Dallas, and a whole slew of other major urban cities. I highly doubt I'll reach them all in my time but there is so much to see that I can't deem one a favorite of all those.
Of all the ones I've been to (pretty limited, by the way) I would have to go with New York City, mostly for Madison Square Garden and the Blue Shirts but there is also a great history behind all of what city has to offer. I believe that it is arguably so that New York City has its own culture (or several cultures) alive and well within the confines of Manhattan. It's a metropolis and a haven for the greatest mix of the most diverse peoples.
I have been only to a few cities in the U.S. I've visited Knoxville, New York City, Boston, Seattle, and Philadelphia, to name a few. I can't really say that I have a favorite because each city had it's own unique experiences to offer. I would say that Knoxville was by far the cleanest. The people there were very friendly and the food was great, especially the grits and biscuits and gravy. Seattle was a lot of fun because it had a lot of culture. There was music playing everywhere especially around the Pike Street Market. The people were very interesting because there was such a diverse crowd. I liked Philly because of its historic sites, bars, and restaurants. New York is great because there is always something to do or see and it's right in our backyard. I would have to say that Boston was my least favorite though because the people there were way too anti-NYC. They picked out my "New York" accent and they gave me the cold shoulder. But, all in all, I would say that to pick one favorite city is impossible because no two cities are alike in atmosphere or culture. I guess I like them all for what they're worth.
My favorite is also Atlantic City - in the summer time of course. I love it because there's so much to do and you'll never be bored. I am not much of a gambler but I have been to a bunch of clubs and restaurants down there and I enjoyed most of em. The boardwalk is real fun and of course theres the beach to hang out at. Theres also brand new malls and outlets all over the city. There's actually a lot of history behind AC as it always used to be a fun place for young people with tons of stuff to do. Also its in the best state- New Jersey!
During my childhood I have had the luxury to have traveled to different cities within the United States and many different islands on various vacations. Most recently I have been going outside of the United States for vacation to Jamaica, Mexico, and Dominican Republic. All of these places were very relaxing and nice but none stood out from the other to me. When I was younger my family would usually go to Myrtle Beach in South Carolina. Why would I pick this as my favorite city? It is a beautiful place that was different then other cities in the United States. Also, the calm and welcoming attitude made me feel at home. Secondly, whenever my family would vacation there, the atmosphere encouraged bonding and a good time with my family. Lastly, the city itself does not have the busy streets and sense of urgency to be somewhere. I am more of the calm type that does not like to be in a hurry. So that is why I would say Myrtle Beach is my favorite city.
My favorite city is Portland Maine. I have been to Maine every year of my life except for one and I almost always go to Portland. It is a small city that one can easily walk around in. It is generally clean and the people are friendly. There are many good places to eat and enjoy entertainment. The city and its harbor also have a long and interesting nautical history.
My favorite city would have to be Rome, Italy. Rome has been a center for cultural development for countless centuries. The city's history can be seen simply by driving or walking around; it is displayed around every corner for all to see. There is so much to see and learn from the ancient city.
As far as my favorite city to visit on a regular basis, I guess that would be New York City. It's extremely close, there are a million ways to get in to the city and a million things to do in the city. Every trip provides a different experience.
My favorite city is Catania in Sicily. One of my favorite spots was the market. The market in Catania is very different than any market you will find in most places in the states. Catania as a city is a raw and rugged place than a lot of the more tourist spots you will find in Sicily. The market reminded me of New York’s SoHo market in the summer but on a far larger scale. There was clothing, shoes, wooden sculptures, furniture and a whole bunch of fresh foods. I felt as if I had been thrown back in time roaming markets that lined the streets. Vendors yelling at each ear; pushing their merchandise in front of your eyes-baiting you to buy more. One needs to walk outside of the market to enjoy Catania even more. There is a beautiful park about five minutes from the market which has a very Greek feel to it because this part of Sicily was conquered and controlled by Greece in past times. There is also an old Roman amphitheater that is set below street level in the middle of a busy/main street that you can go into. Walking around this city will always be one of the better experiences I had when studying abroad in Sicily.
My favorite city in the world is Warszawa (Warsaw), Poland. Although not the prettiest city in the world, it is the capital of the country which my entire family comes from. Part of the reason why it is my favorite city is because of this pride in my heritage. Another part is due to the historical significance the city has as far as Polish history is concerned. Warszawa was under control of the Nazis, and later under a puppet Communist government. In 1944, under the occupation of the Nazis, the Polish people attempted to take the city back into Polish hands in what is known as the Warsaw Uprising. Although the uprising failed, it was a courageous attempt by civilians and military alike to take back what belongs to them. Since Communist times, Warsaw has become one of the biggest European cities "on the rise." Many companies from all over the world have been setting up offices in the city and the city itself is growing and expanding. There are new parts, however the older parts remain intact. Most of the city was razed to the ground by the Nazis during World War II, however, the old sections have been rebuilt to identical stature as they once were. Warsaw is comparable to cities such as New York City and London.

It is very easy to get to using the Path and Transit line and it has a great view of New York city. I know alot of New Yorkers are standing over there saying how dirty New Jersey and I believe that the new and improved Hoboken is a way of saying in your face.
I have not experienced much travel in my lifetime. I've never been outside of the US and I think the farthest west i've travelled was to Philadelphia. Where I have travelled doesn't affect my favorite city as much as who I travelled with. I took a road trip to Orlando, Florida. Me and four of my friends partied and had a blast. There were no monuments that we saw or any historical artifacts. It was the memories of good times with great people that made Orlando my favorite city. I would go into further detail but I don't want Professor Strickland to judge me :-)
I have never really traveled outside the United States besides Toronto and Niagara Falls in Canada. I think if I had to choose which city I have been to I think it is a tie between New York City and Chicago, Illinois.
I have been to New York City almost every year of my life. I love New York City because it is so easy to access. You have so many options to get to it from where we live, I mean you can: drive there via the bridges and tunnels, take a ferry, ride a bus or even take the train there. I enjoy taking the train there because it drops you off right in the heart of the city, Madison Square Garden. I really enjoy Times Square and the many other unique spots it has like Central Park, the Empire State Building, and others. I also love the city for its sports. I love going to Madison Square Garden to watch the Rangers (if I can get tickets), and its always a thrill to go to Yankees Stadium (only when my Baltimore Orioles are in town of course haha) and Shea was a nice place to catch a game as well. One of my favorite things about New York is definitely its boroughs, such as Brooklyn. My friend grew up in Brooklyn so he still has family there and its always a good time when we go to Brooklyn and check out the night life of just grab a slice of some of the best pizza on earth.
I have been to Chicago three times and I enjoy it every time I go. My dad was trained for his job in Chicago so when we went there we had our own personal tour guide. every time we went there we have gone to one of the most unique stadiums in the world, Wrigley Field, to catch the Cubbies play. Wrigley Field is definitely the coolest stadium I have been to for any sporting events in my life. While in Chicago we visited all the museums there. At the Field Museum there they have the fullest remains of a tyrannosaurus there, it's named "Sue". that is one of the most interesting things I think i have eve seen. The other museum I really liked was the museum of Science and Industry. Chicago is also known for its ribs and when we go there we usually try and stop at Carson's ribs for its world renown ribs. They were definitely worth the trip as they were probably the best ribs I have ever had. Speaking of food another must have is the Chicago style deep dish (or stuffed) pizza. It is nothing like the pizza that we get here. It takes 45 minutes for them to make it for you but its certainly worth the wait. For the best authentic Chicago pizza you have to go to Giordano's pizzeria. Chicago also has many unique and interesting landmarks such as: Buckingham Fountain (the fountain seen in the opening credits of "Married with Children"), Hancock Tower, Sears Tower, and the new Millennium Park. Chicago is a very interesting city and I hope to go back again someday soon.
As far as cities go I feel that the older the better. My favorite city is Siena in Tuscany. Siena has all the hustle and bustle of any other city, but also an old world feel that’s all its own. Most of the buildings are very old, and the others ancient. They were created in a time when a building was a piece of art and not just a place to live or work. The piazza Del Campo is one of the most beautiful spaces I have ever seen. Everything is just so serine and warm, not cold like the US cities that I am used to.
I would have to say that my favorite city in the world is New York City. I know being so close is what attracts me to it, but the life of the city is so amazing. I have lived in New Jersey most of my life. I have traveled to other cities up and down the east coast, and even to Spain, and Portugal. But I was so young that all I can really remember is large castles in Spain, and country side in Portugal. New York City has a cluster of mixed people, that when you walk down a street you can see at least three, four different nationalities. Beside all the people, New York City has some of the best places to shop for all different types of things, form clothes, to funky furniture.
My favorite city in the United States is definitly New York. The amount of culture, diversity, and opportunity in the city far surpasses any other United States city that i have been to. In the world, my experience has led me to find that London, England closely rivals New York. The amount of history in both cities is spectacular and I am very fortunate to be very close to one of the best cities in the world - New York City.
I dont nessasary believe that busy towns like nY are all that exciting i like calm and mellow. Towns like Patterson, newark, Jersey City shows the complexity of these cities and their history.
Although of course, many of us are partial to the great New York City, and i must agree, the culture, the arts, entertainment, just the ability to people-watch (a favorite activity of mine) is hardly matched anywhere else. However, in the entire world I would have to say that Salzburg, Austria owns some of my best memories. From old-world storefronts of the city, real-life castles to be explored, the city has both the fast city-life and beautiful landscapes of the countryside all in one. A majestic river meanders through it, as cultures from all over the world come together in harmony (and all speaking several languages may I add). In addition, this is where The Sound of Music was filmed and you can take a tour of all the gardens, the lakes, the homes, gazebo, tree-lined streets, Chapel and glacier lakes in the area that were filmed in the movie. From beergartens to cobble stone roads, this place has it all! A must see!
I haven't done much traveling, but being a resident of Clifton I have been to New York City many times, and it is a place I enjoy visiting. It is such a big place with a lot of history and culture, something for everybody. I have been to Montreal, which is one of the cleanest and nicest places I've seen. It is similar to New York, because it has a large population and is always busy, but the people are a lot more easy-going.
I also visited Iceland and stayed in Reykjavik, and although it is a long distance from any other major world city, it is one of my favorite places. It is a large city, but not on the same scale as say NYC or LA. It is spread out, and skyscrapers are not very common. It is surrounded by mountains and ocean so the scenery is a big attraction for tourists. People must travel a little if they want to do something "fun." but it is a very beautiful city with a rich culture.
